HeartMath Produces Concrete Results in Human Well-Being

HeartMath is doing some cutting edge work which appears to not be replicated by any other organization in the world. This work is focused on heart-based coherence and the relationship between the energy field of humans and that of the earth itself. Specific, measurable results have been achieved, some of which are described below:

  • Resilience training for the US Navy has resulted in positive changes in the lives of thousands of sailors.
  • HeartMath’s collaboration with the University of California has yielded a 73% increase in math scores on the COMPASS program, a college education examination.
  • HeartMath products and programs have been used on 5 continents and in more than 50 countries by over 500,000 executives, managers, staff, physicians, educators, health professionals, athletes, a broad range of medical patients, law officers, military personnel, students and parents.
  • HeartMath’s research has been published in a number of scientific peer-reviewed journals such as American Journal of Cardiology, Stress Medicine, Preventive Cardiology, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Integrative Physiological and Behavioral Science and Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine.
  • The book, The HeartMath Solution, by Doc Childre and Howard Martin, includes cutting-edge science, practical information and easy-to-learn HeartMath techniques. The book includes information about the heart as central to many of the body’s systems and health, and techniques which show how to deepen heart qualities of wisdom, compassion, strength and joy and increase intuitive, creative and heart-centered aspects.
  • Research conducted over 24 years by the Institute of HeartMath has provided new insight into the physiology of emotions, learning, and performance. Based on this research, HeartMath has developed a set of heart-based tools and techniques that help students to better recognize and self-regulate stress, counter the effects of test anxiety and other emotionally based blocks to learning, and improve overall classroom climate. Students learn positive classroom and social behavior and how to manage emotions, respect others’ viewpoints and make responsible decisions.
  • Several highly effective trainer programs have been conducted, including the Qualified Instructor/Resilience Educator, HeartMath Intervention, and HeartMath De-Stress. The Resilient Educator Program was taught online to 30,000 teachers in South Korea.
  • HeartMath provides active military personnel and veterans with skill-building programs and emotion-regulation technology for lessening mental, emotional and physical suffering. HeartMath is proudly helping them transform hopelessness and helplessness to optimism and a renewed desire to lead full and productive lives through its Military Service Appreciation Fund.
  • HeartMath’s emWave® PC/Mac Stress Relief System is used by hundreds of thousands of individuals to reduce stress and improve health, learning and focus. HeartMath organizational programs have resulted in dramatic improvements in the health and performance of executives, staff retention and customer satisfaction, as well as personal benefits to employee health, well-being, learning and resilience
  • HeartMath launched a program to train police, firefighters and other first responders, called The Coherence Advantage: Building Stress Resilience and Optimizing Performance.
  • Several free public webinars are given a year. HeartMath averages a total of 15,000 registrants.

  • April 2013 saw the online release of the Institute of HeartMath video, The Heart’s Intuitive Intelligence: A path to personal, social and global coherence. This inspiring presentation about the essence of HeartMath touched the hearts of people eager to make deeper connections in their lives. The video soon went viral, garnering nearly 250,000 views by late January 2014
  • In a major development for its research, the U.S. Health and Human Services’ National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP) recognized three IHM studies.
