Law of Attraction


Much has been written about the Law of Attraction and universal consciousness by such authors as Esther Hicks, Bruce Lipton, Deepak Chopra, and Gregg Braden.  The ideas espoused by these authors are very empowering and exciting.  Many people are on a quest to find out how to interact with the Universe in order to have a more fulfilling life.  More and more people are talking about this topic and getting excited about it.


The biblical edits of the fourth century A.D., according to many scholars, removed writings which empowered the individual and affirmed that change begins from within us. We have been taught to think that we have no personal power.


However, much new and exciting research has been undertaken which is showing that we are much more powerful than we have heretofore thought. As Gregg Braden has said, “If you can change your thinking, you can change your body and your DNA. If you can change your body, you can change your world.” This leads to the enormously exciting conclusion that our feelings and thoughts are mirrored in our outer world. He also has described experiments which have proved the existence of an intelligent field of energy which responds directly to our thoughts and feelings. His work, along with that of the Boundary Institute in New Jersey and the Global Coherence Project, indicate that the universe is one big consciousness computer where what one focuses on is reflected directly back to the individual, without exception. Quantum physics has uncovered some very convincing evidence to prove this.


Various meditation exercises can be used to re-wire one’s brain away from thoughts of limitation and negativity. Strong negative limiting beliefs, most of which were ingrained in childhood, influence how we think to a great degree. According to some authors, as much as 95 percent of our thoughts are determined by pre-existing beliefs. Therefore, only 5 percent of what we think is truly influenced by actual events we are encountering at the moment. It is absolutely essential to undertake some simple exercises which will create new neural pathways in the brain in order to allow the manifestation techniques to work.


One must reframe various situations in order to have them enter one’s reality.  This could include turning what could have been a contentious meeting into a very friendly and productive one; taking anxieties around travel and turning it into a situation where the trip was actually enjoyable; being able to freely express thoughts without feeling limited; and improving emotional and physical well-being. Future posts will include some sample techniques.
